About the Baker/Owner
Hi, I'm Cristina Andam! I'm the baker and visionary behind Tinapay Theory. I grew up in the Philippines where I was surrounded by the flavors, traditions, and warmth that inspire my baking today. From a young age, I was fascinated by how simple ingredients - flour, sugar, butter - could be transformed into something that brings joy and comfort. That curiosity and love for food have stayed with me throughout my life even after moving permanently to the USA to build my own family.
My Day Job: Clinical Research
By day, I work as a Senior Clinical Research Associate, ensuring clinical trials are conducted safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory authorities. This career allows me to make a meaningful difference in people's lives, and it taught me the value of science and precision while incorporating patience and dedication - all are the same skills I bring to the kitchen every time I bake.
My Passion: Baking
Baking became my way to share joy, creativity, and comfort. Tinapay Theory started as a weekend project, experimenting with flavors and Filipino classics. Today, I craft breads, buns, and cookies with care and a little bit of magic.
Giving Back: Supporting Scholars
Education is close to my heart as it is the same tool I use to climb to where I am at today which allowed to provide stability and structure to my own family. I use Tinapay Theory as a platform to support young scholars and help them reach their dreams. Every treat carries a mission: to inspire, uplift, and show that small acts of kindness can make a big difference to someone else's life.
Baking is my love language. Every loaf and cookie carries a little care, a little joy, a little hope, and a purpose bigger than myself.
